Baylab - The Bayer Science Laboratory - first international edition
2018 was a special year for the Bayer Science Laboratory. 5 cities in Romania (Bucharest, Iasi, Timisoara, Constanta, Cluj-Napoca) and 1 international capital (Chisinau) were the fascinating travel stations, through the science world, for all the 9,000 participating children.
For 3 weeks, between 7th and 25th May, small scientists from Romania and the Republic of Moldova traveled to the amusing and fascinating world of scientific experiments in biology and chemistry.
The 280 sessions of scientific experiments were lasting 60 minutes and offered to students individual and team activities. The sessions had a hands-on approach, which was greatly appreciated by children and their parents, which allowed small researchers to personally perform experiments under the careful guidance of teachers and Bayer’s volunteers.
At the end of each session, the teacher who accompanied the student group received a beautiful illustration of the Mendeleev table and a CD with educational resources, which included clips with scientific experiments and first aid courses - offered with the support of the Caravana cu Medici.
Baylab - Bayer Science Laboratory is a courageous project that has been able to provide, since 2014 until today, an amazing educational experience for children between the ages of 6 and 12, by exposing the scientific information in an extremely attractive way for children.
During the 5 editions of the project, more than 23,000 participating children discovered science playing and learned new things. This local succes contributes to an ambitious global goal of Bayer: 1,000,000 children interested in science by 2020.
