Education, Health, Agriculture – Priorites for the Future

In 2019 Baylab is committed to make children aware of some meaningful topics: education and the joy of discovering the world through play; health and how basic life support knowledge can make the difference in critical situations; agriculture and the key role played by plants in life as we know it. Hence, Baylab becomes a complex educational project, carefully tailored to meet expectations of all beneficiaries – be them students, parents and teachers.

"Every day, students spend at least 4 hours in class – that is enough for the rush, lack of attention or mischief to step in and make them face a life or death situation. Statistics reinforce this hypothesis: 1 in 5 road accidents happens near a school. The solution? Training children to handle such situations. Baylab’s initiative is a bold step forward – medical education and first-aid courses enable children to overcome fear and, why not, be the saviours of a colleague or any other loved onestated Conf. Dr. Mihai Craiu, Pediatrician, founder of the Virtual Hospital for Children.

As part of the courses, volunteers from the Caravana cu Medici Association and Romanian Red Cross – Timiş branch will invite children to imagine a couple of frequent scenarios and practice the proper maneuvers to be performed until professional help arrives. "We often say that health is the most precious thing we have and, through our endeavours at Caravana cu Medici, we aim at improving people’s quality of life by providing access to medical investigations and the assistance they need. As such, it felt natural to take the partnership we have with Bayer Romania even further and we are happy to be a part of the Baylab story, helping students make the right choices, at the right time" added Dr. Mihai Ranete, President of Caravana cu Medici Association.

About science with smiles, at MagiCAMP

Science doesn’t belong to handbooks, but to every place where children are excited to learn more and make the most out of it. Special Baylab workshops will be held at MagiCAMP camps over the summery holiday. Melania Medeleanu, MagiCAMP founder: "What causes a rainbow? Why do clouds have so many colors? I sometimes get such questions from the children I meet and I’ve always wished for someone able to coat the scientific reasoning in the funniest and accessible layer possible. I am pleased to learn that Baylab has found a way to befriend children with science and I cannot wait to see the trainers visiting MagiCAMP this year facing the avalanche of inevitable and fascinant questions the little ones will come up with".

Baylab was launched by Bayer Romania back in 2014, with the aim to raise children’s interest in science and learning at large. The event in Romania and the Republic of Moldova contributes to reaching Bayer’s global objective – 1,000,000 children interested in science by 2020.
